Well, here are some classic film icons ( actors ) that have been floating around on my computer for a while. Thought I'd post, some of these folks you may recognize? ;)

They're nothing special, but fun to make them anyhow. I'm not good with text, so I just usually put the actor's name! :p

My local library is going to have an I Love Lucy day near Lucille Ball's birthday and have an I Love Lucy marathon. I'm very excited about it!

This is the first time something local (that I've known about) is doing something classic. Is there a place in your town/city that does something special with classic movies or stars? Like my library is doing?

I just thought I would make a small introduction since I just joined. =)

My name is Katy. I'm 17 years old. I've been watching classic movies since I was a kid. I would say my favorite actress is Judy Garland. I think she's just the best. I couldn't say who is my favorite actor because there are many that I really like. I wrote movie reviews at my journal (they're more of modern movies than classic though).

I just posted icons with Audrey Hepburn and Judy Garland over at my journal, if you're interested. =)

Singing Actors

Okay, so I was listening to some music and I found this one song about Humphrey Bogart and just thought it was so funny. It's called Humphrey Bogart and Susannah Mars sings it. Here you can listen to a sample of it:

So any songs you know of that mention actors? Or any songs that have actors singing that don't normally sing? I heard Bogart singing The Bold Fisherman  w/ Crosby and Bacall.

Do you ever...?

I have dial-up so I cannot view vids like I'd like to, but do any of you ever enjoy those classic montages featuring modern music on YouTube? I was looking at some the other day while I was at my bro's house and felt inspired. So I created one of my own, featuring Lloyd and music via Leo Sayer. It came out alright (I'd post it if I had a DVD-burner on my comp) but I was curious if anyone else makes these? Or enjoys them, at least.

How did you get into classics?

Danny mentioned this in her first posting and some of us touched on it, but I thought I'd ask outright...

Warning: My story is extremely dull and vague...

The first old movie I remember seeking out is Casablanca; this was probably about three years ago... I knew someone who was crazy about it, so I wanted to check it out. I liked it, but I regret to say that watching Casablanca didn't immediately spark a huge passion for classics... I think I saw a few more Bogart movies, but that's about it. At some point awhile after this, for some reason or another, I became curious about this old movie thing again, and I started watching some more Bogart and Cary Grant... After them, the next things I got into were Hitchcock and the Marx Brothers... And from there it gradually just started snowballing, especially from I think about a year and a half ago, to my present state of spending way too much time watching classic films. XD
